Silly girl

For some reason, just now I remembered this poem I wrote a while back. I was feeling really fragile and silly at the time (only for a short while), but I like how it turned out so I thought I'd share it with you.

Silly girl

Oh, silly girl.
Yes, he's dancing with someone else and
in your head you don't care but
in your heart you do.

Oh, silly girl.
You got caught up in emotions
like a kite in the wind
and the people holding the string
are not able to reel you in.

Oh, silly girl.
I know you believe in the
power of the mind and so
you take the reel yourself, but
the winds are too strong and
your hands too weak.

But they say: Don't you worry silly girl.
It's because you have
the soul of an artist
you feel these things,
and that it makes you create.

So pour your pain onto paper.
Form it into letters, words, sentences.
Scribbled in irregular lines.
Let your tear stains decorate the pages.

Let it go.

And then search for the next stir of wind
to send you flying.
