Number 4: Music
My absolute favourite musician is Ben Howard. When I discovered him in September 2011, he was just about to release his first album. A friend of mine sent me his first single The Wolfes and I really liked the feel of it. When he released his second single Keep Your Head Up, I checked it out, and I liked that song too. I found an EP which I liked as well. Once his album Every Kingdom came out I gave it a listen and I was completely blown away. I loved every single song on that record. I was literally listening to it 24/7, I think my neighbours in the hall got a bit tired of hearing the same songs coming from my room all the time.
Since then I have had the privilege to see him live three times. The first time was in Stockholm, only a couple of months after I had started listening to his music, I was very lucky. I can't even describe how amazing Ben and his band is to see live. The songs just come alive in a wonderful way. Since that first time I have seen him once in London and a second time in Stockholm. But even if all their shows are amazing, I don't think anything will ever beat that first time I saw him live. By that time, few people knew about him and the gig was in a very small, intimate venue which gave it a great atmosphere. I think I had goosebumps through the whole show. After that, it all kind of exploded for him, he has received several awards and his fan base grows every day. Which I'm of course super excited about and he deserves it so much. But I'm so grateful that I got to experience the time before his big break-through.
He is about to release his second album, and when that comes out he will probably go out touring again. So hopefully I don't have to wait much longer to see him play again.
