Anyhoww, I've had a great weekend! Originally, I was supposed to be free this Friday and work Saturday, but then my shifts got changed so I worked Friday and was free all weekend again. Works out better for me anyway! So me and Mary Catherine actually went to Molly Moggs this Friday! For those of you who don't know, Molly Moggs is one of my favourite places in London (if not the favourite place). It's a gay bar in Soho that hosts karaoke nights every Friday. I can't come up with a way to describe it to give it justice, but it just has a great atmosphere and awesome people. When I used to go there before, there was this drag queen called Diamond Pearl who hosted the karaoke nights, and she was amazing. Unfortunately, she wasn't there this Friday though. :( I don't know if it was just a one-time thing or if she just doesn't do it anymore... That disappointed me a little bit, but it was still good fun!
Yesterday, me and MC felt like going out again, so I went to Islington where she lives. We just walked around trying to find good places and went into a random bar. It was pretty cool and they had a really nice cocktail menu, with lots of alcohol free cocktails! I love that! Then this guy started chatting to us and said we should come with them to another bar, and we thought why not, and went there and hung out with him and a bunch of his friends haha! Kind of random, but they were good fun. And they took us to several cool places, so it was a really nice night.
Today I've just been chilling out, went to Bloomsbury for a while. That's the area where I work, and also where I used to live when I studied here before. I really liked the area when I lived there, and I think I like it even more now, maybe because I don't have the privilege to live there anymore. It has a history of a lot of writers, artists and just lots of creative people living there which I think is really cool. So I walked around for a while, reminiscing about old times. I went into a cute café and had some tea, and then I went to a really good second-hand book store where I bought Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. I really want to try and read more, and there are so many classics I haven't read, such as those two books for example. So I'm really excited about getting to read them!
When I skyped with my friend earlier, she said she wanted me to write something "inspiring" or whatever now, but I feel this is getting too long already haha. Maybe I'll write something with more substance in the next few days. In the beginning of next week, I'm working middle and morning shifts (woho!), so I feel like I will have more time to do other things than just work. But I don't want to promise anything!
Anyway, here are some random pics that I've taken during the week, starting with a few of the surrounding area of my house.
Amazing cups at ScandiKitchen!
And these are from today:
Books, books and more books <3
I'll speak to you again soon (hopefully)!
